5-HTP: 5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) is a naturally occurring amino acid and a precursor of the neurotransmitter Serotonin.
Serotonin is referenced as influencing sleep, mood (feeling of well-being), memory and endocrine regulation, cardio vascular function as well as potentially aiding in addressing depression. Serotonin is also one of the most important brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) for regulating the sleep/wake cycle.
Serotonin is biochemically derived from the amino acid Tryptophan, however supplementing with 5-HTP is a more effective way of producing Serotonin than taking Tryptophan alone.
Magnesium Bisglycinate: Magnesium Bisglycinate is made up of magnesium and glycine. It is very easily absorbed by the body and is preferred to other types of magnesium because it's less likely to cause a laxative effect.
Magnesium is often referred to as the ‘relaxation mineral’ and is regularly supplemented with to fight symptoms of insomnia. Magnesium is also required for protein synthesis and aids in normal muscle and psychological function.
Zinc Orotate: Zinc is one of the most essential minerals to the body and takes place in a huge number of processes within the hormonal and immune systems. Zinc Orotate is recognised as having the best bioavailability and absorption than other forms of zinc supplements.
Zinc also contributes to normal DNA synthesis, the acid-base balance, macro-nutrient metabolism, cognitive function, normal function of the immune system and is integral to testosterone levels. Zinc is also referenced to support a restful and deep sleep.
Vitamin B3: Vitamin B3 is documented to promote sleep and increase the effectiveness of Tryptophan. Vitamin B3 also contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system and normal psychological function.
Theanine: Theanine is an amino acid which is associated with relaxation and aiding sleep as well as the production of alpha-waves. Alpha-waves are brain waves of between 7.5 Hz and 13 Hz that peak around 10 Hz. The beginning of relaxation occurs during this wave length.
